Question on Fuel Gauge and Ballast tank guage-SANTE 03

Hi guys.My fuel indicator indicates full tank on full and but only half on an empty tank.Checked the slider/float on the shaft in the fuel tank and the guage's range is half to full when sliding that floater.Any ideas?
Conversely , my port ballast guage states that its half full even when theres no water in it.
Are both my senders faulty?has anyone experienced that same problems?

I would bet the senders are faulty. You can use an ohm meter to measure the resistance of the senders outside of the circuit. I think it should read 240 to 30 ohms according to WEMA's specs. Not sure which resistance goes with which level, but that is the range. If you are not getting full range on the sender, the gauge will be off. If you get full range on the sensor then there is probably a voltage drop in the wires (look for a split/bad connection) or the gauge is bad.

I had one water tank and the gas tank not working at all this spring (read empty all the time). I just replaced all three with SSL (stainless) WEMA replacements. They are about $40 a piece. www.wemausa.com

You can also use a standard resistor from Radio Shack to test the gauge (try three different values: 240, 100, 30).

    Good luck,

    Lorin
