This is specific to a 2004 Nautique 206 Limited.
The MW1 remote stereo display I recently installed is too bright at night. To correct this, I need to tie in my upgraded Clarion M608 headunit to the dash illumination system which in turn will trigger the MW1 display to dim when the dash illumination is turned on. The dash illumination turns on when the running lights are turned on. As I understand from the Clarion documentation, the M608 supports a day/night function but not a variable dimming level...which is fine.
The M608 has a day / night input wire but I don't see a matching factory illumination feed wire in the factory stereo harness. When I installed the new headunit, I used the existing factory harness as it was plug compatible with M608 but the illumination feed was not connected. This suggests that Nautique never ran an illumination trigger wire to the factory headunit. If anyone knows differently, I'd love to hear about it.
So....assuming there is no existing factory wire to the stereo, I need to either T into the dash illumination circuit or maybe just T into the running light circuit to trigger the nighttime function on the M608.
Clear as mud right? Any suggestions on how to approach?
