ZZ8 Spark Plug Gap

Has anyone here changed the spark plugs on a ZZ8 SC? I'm curious what gap others are running.

The PCM manual specifies a 0.040" gap, but that seems fairly wide for a supercharged chevy engine. The reason I'm questioning it is that the factory installed plugs I removed were nowhere near that, they appeared to be left at the out of the-box gap of approximately 0.031".

For anyone wondering, part number R030014 is simply an ACDelco 41-128 spark plug.

Not a spark plug expert, but changed many hundred's of them.
AC Delco calls out .031 on that plug, if were me I would run them at that. Pull a plug after a few hours and do a visual.
What are the plugs that you are replacing gapped at, out of curiosity?

Scooter G The factory plugs I took out were gapped at 0.031. I ended up gapping the new ones at the same as before, 0.031. Not sure why PCM specifies 0.040 when they didn't even gap them to that from new.
