    1998 Super Natique Air "overheating"

    Hello,
Have a 98 super air natique I just bought recommission it, put a new impeller in (installed the housing correctly lol). Pulled the hose off the strainer and had the garden hose running, before the engine was started, water was pouring out exhaust. Started up and seemed to run fine, but temperature gauge was sky rocketing to 220 as soon as it started up. Engine was cool to the touch. Pulled the hose off the top of the thermostat and was completely filled with water.

Any ideas? Could it be the temp sensor itself?

Temp sensor or wiring issues is likely with the symptoms you describe.
