Just recently bought a 2001 air nautique extremely low hours. Was unable to run the engine at the sale he didn’t have a fake lake… I know I’m an idiot. Ended up getting home and sucking 30 gallons of fuel out from sitting a few years. Got fresh gas and seafoam marine pro in there and went to start and it would fire and then immediately die. Checked the kill switch and also replaced the fuel filter. It was at this moment I realized when I put my code in and wake the system the LP fuel pump wouldn’t turn on. I kept reading check and change the relays so that’s what I did. Still no pump. On one of the plugs to the relays I’m reading 11.2 volts on the constant power pole and 12.5 volts on the switched pin. Can anyone help me am I screwed? Did I buy a stupid boat? The old owner said he would buy it back if I wasn’t thrilled with it. Any help or where to look next would be greatly appreciated. I was so happy about this boat and now im not sure. Talk me off this ledge…

When you say you checked the kill switch, what exactly did you do? That switch cuts power to the fuel pump.

Take a breathe and reset. Most of us who've bought used "project" boats have been here and yes any boat that hasn't run in 2 years is a project boat. Just that act of pumping out 30 gallons of gas alone pretty much puts in in that category. Worst case is you take it to a dealer and have them troubleshoot it for you. This should not be the end of the world type of event.
Lets start with going through exactly what you've done so far and more of a description of what's happening. We know by your first post you've drained the gas. I would assume but can't confirm you've changed the battery, right? Lay out exactly what you've done and what your seeing. Pictures will tell us a lot more than vague statements without reference as to which pins you're checking voltages at. Start taking pictures of what you're doing for reference to assist others help with remote troubleshooting.
You may or may not have done the following but let's start here and move on.....- Has the engine started and if so for how long and in what state of performance?
- Have you replaced battery and ensured full charge?
- Have you gone through and clean and checked all the electrical connections from the battery and though the start circuit?
- How did you check the safety switch? Have you tried bypassing the switch?
There are a lot of guys on this forum that are better with your engine package than me but a general observation on the voltage readings would be that 11.2 volts anywhere would seem low and indicate either a bad battery or a voltage drop occurring which would lead back to a couple of the questions I had above.
If it's kicking over and not making any bad noises you're probably going to be fine, you just need to get past this initial issue to move forward. Unless you overpaid for the boat even if you have to take it to the dealer you should be fine. BTW all boats are stupid in many people's eye but we all seem to love them for various reasons. Yes we all throw money at these boats but that just part of the boating game that you have to live with. You'll get through this and it'll make for a great story by the end of the summer.

Thank you guys for checking me on my bypass on the SS I squeezed the prongs on the spays a little tighter and put a fuse inline closing that circuit and the pump worked!!! You guys are awesome thank you so much you saved Mother’s Day for this family. So glad it wasn’t like an ecm or bad wiring. Thank you thank you!

First, ya gotta post a few pictures. Love to see it! Congratulations on the purchase!
Then if this was my boat, I'd put together plan to go through the boat end to end to inspect or renew any items that it requires. It will take some work of course but at the end you'll feel much better about the condition of the boat and - best of all - trust it when you head out on the lake. Don't forget the trailer either....it may need some work after sitting for a while. Nothing worse than being 'that guy' on the side of the road scratching his head staring at a half cocked wheel hanging off the axle.
If you need list of items to go through, I'm sure the board would be happy to help assemble.
