    2003 SANTE (330 Excalibur) Won't Go Past 14 MPH - Help Needed

    Hi everyone,

I'm needing advise on my 2003 SANTE with a 330 Excalibur with 800hrs. The boat idles fine and no issues at no wake speeds, but when I throttle up I can only get to about 14 MPH. It isn't high rev'ing it just gets up to 14 and that's it. There aren't any strange sounds or feels. I'm stumped.

Oil level is fine, fuel filter has been replaced, compression is 165lbs all around, spark plugs and wires are good.

I have it out of the water now and not sure what to do next. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The speed control isn't engaged is it? If you have the speed set to 14 the boat isn't going to go faster than that until you disengage the speed control.

If we eliminate the speed control we're into linkage and electronic controls. Don't know if they went to "fly by wire" by 2003. If they didn't I'd be looking at the linkage to make sure you're getting full movement at the carb. If they did and you're not getting any alarms and you have RPMs that match the speed you're going to be into diagnostics for the throttle and sensors at the fuel injection. Throttle positioning sensor would seem to come to mind quickly.
