Hi all, I have a 2007 Nautique 236 with ZR6 motor - I need to replace the transmission, and I'm doing some research to determine costs. I know the one I have is no longer able to be repaired, and I know the V Drive is ok, and the trans cooler is ok (although most trans appear to come as a kit with the trans cooler whether you want it or not) There's a few places selling them, but I don't know whether my PCM engine is a Ford or GM block, or which rotation it is, and I need to know this before I can go ahead to buy the replacement. There looks to be 3 or 4 marine companies selling these transmissions. Any suggestions of who to purchase from, and would there be likely to be price variations, and is it better to purchase from a specific seller with a good reputation, than the least expensive seller? - any / all info would be much appreciated. Thanks

If you're going from a PCM 40 series to an 80 series transmission, you have to replace the transmission cooler. It's a different larger cooler than the 40 series.
It would also be a mistake not to replace the flex plate while you're in there. Most 80 series upgrade kits also come with a new flex plate.

Thanks for that Jonny! - excuse my ignorance, but is standard rotation left or right?.
Also, the ratio - do you know what that will be, an will it be printed on the transmission casing?
And do you know if the ZR6 6.0 litre is 375hp? - I know some of these boats are 390hp.
Also, I did read somewhere that flywheel / pulley rotation is different to prop rotation - I'm assuming that's because of the V drive ?
Anyway I guess I just need to know the rotation that relates to buying the correct transmission.

Standard rotation in marine engines is LH rotation. Marine engine rotation is viewed from the flywheel looking forward. Auto engines are viewed from the front of the engine looking toward the flywheel — so a standard rotation auto engine is RH rotation. Clear as mud?
Your PCM engine is a standard rotation, or LH rotation (in the marine world). As such, it will spin clockwise (just like an auto engine) when looking at the front of the engine and anti-clockwise when looking at the rear of the engine.
Your engine should have a metal ID tag with numbers and letters. The tag will tell you about the engine:
Your tag probably reads: 02-600V-01-...
(Note that the 6.0L engine does not have a RH or LH option -- hence it is only a LH or standard rotation.
