LINC screen upside down and backwards!!!!

hey - i have a 2010 SANTE 210 and today when i fired it up, the screen for the LINC (i think its called - the screen in front of driver) was upside down and backwards. still registered button presses and input but..... i tried restarting the boat but did not help. maybe will disconnect all the power to try to reset. i read a few posts that mentioned this as first symptom of total failure, which then requires a $5000 repair, including parts that i cannot get any longer...... is this true? anything i can do myself about it or am i out of luck?

    thx for any info.

Post a picture of the screen. Being a 2010, I think it’s the LINC 1.0 screen which is no longer available and a different design than the much more common LINC 2.0 screen that started being used in 2011.

I know what I said above is true for the 200, less sure about the 210. For the 2010 200s, Nautique made an upgrade kit to install the LINC 2.0 screen as their solution since the LINC 1.0 was no longer manufactured. The kit consisted of a new dash bezel, a different wiring harness, a LINC 2.0 screen with special firmware. I don’t understand the comment in the following link to the kit for the 200 about being superseded by another part number. Because the other part number is just the screen, not all the other stuff needed for the conversion.

Same thing happens to mine every once in awhile. Just haven't pulled the trigger on the $5k fix yet. I sent mine to Nautique who sent it to FW Murphy and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Leads me to believe its not a screen issue but a possible wiring issue, but not 100% sure on that.

so does anyone think it might be a loose connection behind the bezel - worth unscrewing it and reseating everything? tho might break it worse i guess......? (sorry for multiple posts above - browser was hung and pressed again)....

Right, that's the listing for the LINC 2.0 screen itself, but it won't fit in your boat without a different dash bezel and wiring harness. Based on your picture, your screen is the no longer manufactured LINC 1.0.

If you're handy, you may want to take your screen apart. Unlike the later screens, which are glued together. The LINC 1.0 screen can be disassembled just by taking out screws. Inside there are a bunch of stacked circuit boards with lots of connectors between them. I can't remember exactly how many, but it was either three or four circuit boards. It could be that some of those connections are dirty. It's possible that just taking everything apart and putting it back to together will correct the issue.

We have had a lot of these come through the shop for various issues.

                  Black and white lines
                  Dim or dark display
                  UV Burned LCD

And the most common, upside down and or backwards image.

I can fix the dim or dark display currently. Parts in stock.

The other ones require LCD replacement. What happens is the LCD pin connector that determines image orientation loses spring force over time, and fails to make contact. As a result it displays 180 degrees from what it needs to be.

I have spent countless hours trying to bend the pins back but I cannot get it to work. It will be fine for a day or two and then reverts to upside down. The only solution for this is new LCD and new glass. Both of which are in development because the parts are no longer available so the LCD had to be reverse engineered from scratch.

I will have the mail in repair for the LCD issues available for the next boating season.

Keep an eye on mtcscreens.com for the updates.
