Please help! Temp and oil pressure gauges are intermittent.

Hi everyone,

I recently got a 2005 Ski Nautique 196 with a PCM ZR6 engine. I’m having an issue where both my oil pressure gauge and engine temperature gauge are working intermittently. The volts gauge is workin.


Here’s what I’ve done so far:

• Cleaned and reseated the main Canon plug connector to the gauge cluster

I’m wondering if anyone has experience with this? Is this going to be a pain to solve or an expensive one? Please let me know your experience and what you found.

That kit you referenced from NautiqueParts.com is what I used. If you are comfortable with engines, wiring, etc., this may be a DIY project for you. If not, then Jeff's link to Silver Cove Marine is a good option. I believe that Correct Craft makes the kit, so the results are very good.

Might be worth it to connect with TechBeer to talk about those individual giauges before doing the GW Bypass. Is Oil/Temp info displaying properly on the Tach LCD?

Zigman89 Before you invest in the GW option I would be happy to look at those 2 gauges on my lab bench. The gauges are the primary failure point. If they are bad I can easily fix them. If they are good then you likely have a GW issue. PM me if you are interested.
