GT40 no spark

Same thing happened last 2 times out;
after a good half hour of riding the engine suddenly dies. Won't start because of no spark from coil to distributor. After a 10 minute-wait it fires up again.
Would this indicate the coil is going out, or another issue? Anything to check before ordering a new coil?

Does it sputter & die like fuel loss, or does it just quit like turning off the key (electrical)? Happening at cruising speed??

Hi, no sputtering, just suddenly quits. Today was when the driver was about to pull me out of the water, the other time I'm not quite sure but might have been the same, when pulling someone out or maybe when idling around the fallen rider.
