2005 206 Limited - how to remove the ballast gauge?

Does anyone know a way to simply remove this ballast gauge? I tried last season without success.

It's not possible to access from behind due the curvature of the grey dash panel.

I was unable to remove the silver trim panel. At the moment, I cant remember exactly why...it either has hidden screws I couldn't access or I couldn't get it over the throttle handle.

OK, you've piqued my curiousity about why you want to remove it.

Ah, I misinterpreted that you just wanted it gone, to which I was going to suggest you just put some electrical tape over it!

You have to remove the throttle handle and the throttle handle trim ring, then take out the screws and the silver panel should come off. I seem to remember there may be a set screw holding the throttle handle on. The silver panel may be pretty well stuck in place, so it may take a little convincing to come loose from the vinyl covered panel.

jpwhit - thanks. Agree that seems like the most likely avenue.

Any suggestions on how to get the throttle handle off? IIR, I removed the center bolt and I was still unable to get the throttle arm to come loose. I was pretty cautious in the sense that I didn't want use force to persuade the handle off. That said, it's likely never been removed either. Thoughts?

Look for the set screw. You may have to move the throttle lever to see it. I think it may go in from the bottom when the handle is straight up.

Yep, there is a tiny set screw (allen head) on the underside of the throttle arm when it is straight up. You have to keep it straight up to access it, because there is a small opening in the plastic at that point to access it.
