Ballast Fills when it says it is emptying

The dealer replaced the pump on my belly ballast tank last fall. Now when I try and drain it it continues to fill. The electronic indicators show the tank emptying but water is clearly still flowing out the side of the boat because it is completely full. The water continues to flow out of the side of the boat. Is it possible to put the pump in reverse? Is there a wiring issue? 2017 G25

To be clear are you saying that when you hit the fill the tank empties and when you hit empty it fills? If this is the case and only the pump was changed (no wiring done) then the head on the pump needs to be rotated 180 degrees. The will reverse the operation of the pump without changing any wiring.

Interesting! I didn't know you could rotate the heads on these pumps. Any chance you have a photo or two of the process to rotate it?

Thanks for the information. How do I rotate the pump head? I’m not exactly a gear head. Is this difficult?

Really simple actually IF they're like the ones in my 2016 200 Sport Nautique. Here's some pictures of some spares I have to demonstrate. There are only 2 screws holding the pump head on the motor.
          1. Pull your hoses off
          2. Dismount the pump if you can't get access to the screws
          3. Remove screws
          4. Rotate pump head
          5. Put the screws back in
          6. Put hoses back on
          7. Have a beer
          Number 7 is actually optional.

Since this is a reversible pump you could also disassemble the power connector and reverse the wires to the pump. Depending on the connector rotating the head is typically easier, at least for me as I don't have a pin removal tool for what is typically a weather pack or Deutsch connector.
