Windshield latch

I have broken the two windshield latches on my 2005 SV 211. I can find the latches but the old ones were riveted in and I’m wondering how to remove the broken ones and how to put the new ones I so they still turn to latch the walk through windshield? Anyone done this?

Can you drill the old rivets out and install new latches and rivets?

I’m I can drill them out. The question is once I get them out and re-rivet them back they have to be loose enough to swivel around the rivet. Maybe I can just not put the rivet in tight? Thank you for response.

Exactly just don’t put the new one in super tight and should be fine
