Steering cable issues on 08 206

    Hello,
I replaced the steering cable yesterday on my 206 after ordering the cable 2 years ago. The length is perfect and it bolted up to the helm perfectly. My issue is the steering cable that connects to the steering block clamp is not as thick as replacement. Any suggestions? New block, new cable, or could I make some type of sleeve?

      Why? What did you find?

How long did it take you? Can you share your cable part #. I need to get ready to do this too on my 206.

        Skidave,

I should have paid a little bit more attention when I was reading instructions on replacing the cable. My problem was that I removed the steering block clamp. This is not needed. I just needed to loosen the nut and this would allow the cable to slide through after disconnecting from the rudder.

Replacing the cable wasn't that bad. I would say it took 2 of us 1.5-2 hours. This included us removing a lot of other things that just needed to be cleaned. The item number through Nautique Parts is 90590.

Thanks for the reply. Is this a Ski Nautique? Mine is a 206 Air and I have tanks. Do you have tanks?

It is a 206 Air. I do not have the hard tanks though. I really wish I did. The bags on the floor are annoying. I plan on doing seadek next year along with figuring out the ballast situation.

Do you have the trick tank only?

I have the two separate tanks. There is some room between and under the fuel tanks to get to components, but it is tight.
