Change oil or not

So, having just logged 30hrs on the boat this year (bad weather & new job) is it worth changing the oil and filter at the end of the season? I may use the boat the odd time over the winter if warm enough. I gave the engine zr390 a full time up at the start of the season, belts, plugs, antifreeze, oil, filter, FCC, so it’s not exactly being neglected.

The manual states 50 hours and/or annually Probably not the best idea to let dirty oil sit all winter. I would change it.

I would keep on the regular schedule, and not bother changing.

Agreed. I'm not at 50 hrs but will change as part of winterizing as always. I will not be using it during the winter though.

Absolutely change the oil...$30-$40 and 30mins for peace of mind? No brainer

My dealer has always said that regardless of hours to change it before lay up. Even in heated storage they stressed the importance of changing it.

Personally, I would much prefer clean oil to sit in the system over winter rather than dirty/semi-dirty oil....draining also gets any buildup out and if you leave it over winter it could possibly "gunk" up and be harder to get out later. I am no expert, but it just makes sense to me to change it no matter what.
