I'm about to get all of my 25 hour stuff done. I haven't t seen much on the board about preferred fluid for the transmission. My dealer is using Chevron MD3. PCM tells me not to use synthetic with the trans. What are people using? Thanks.

According to the manual for your engine, a transmission fluid change isn't required at 25 hours. You should just check the fluid and make sure it is full and clean.
If you do end up changing it, it looks like PCM is requiring synthetic in their V-drive transmissions, which is what's in all of the G-series boats.

They are two separate units. The V drive is essentially "service free". Dealers tell me that they are discouraged from even messing with them. As for the transmission itself, I spoke with Mark Snyder at PCM (the main guy). He says to make sure to use regular ATF in the transmission, as synthetic to too slick for plates in the unit. My dealer tells me they use Chevron MD3 (which is no-doubt an acronym for Dexron-Mercon III), and that it is best to change it at the 25 hour service. I also talked to Mark about the whole synthetic oil thing, and as detailed before, we can use synthetic to our heart's delight (in the specified weights, of course); just don't extend drain intervals. PCM, has been trying to say that it is overkill, given low operating temps and associated change intervals. I like overkill though...
PCM does everything they can to steer consumers back to dealers for technical support via their phone system. They say they are too small in SC, staff-wise, to handle this function. Further, all dealers are factory trained. My issue with this is that different dealers give different feedback, in my experience. (This is different from a Chevrolet dealership, for example, when dealing with a Corvette LS7 engine.). That engine comes from the factory with Mobil 1 in a specified viscosity, and if you were (which I wouldn't) to take it to the dealer for servicing, you can have any oil you want, (so long as it is Mobil 1 in that aforementioned viscosity). There is rigor there... There is less rigor in the boat service world, thus my homework. The only reason I knew who Mark was, and the only reason he dealt with me/knew me-was the result of my missing catalyst fiasco after delivery (see my early posts)...

In one place my manual mentions tranny fluid change at the 25 hour service and in another place it doesn't.2007 Malibu Wakesetter 23 LSV, 1995 Cobalt 200
