    Best Oil Extraction Pump?

Ok guys, sorry to bring this up again, but I'm looking for advice on the BEST oil extraction pump. I've tried the Topsider and a drill pump and neither will remove hot oil from my ZR4.

Ive tried several configurations but nothing is working. At this point I'm willing to pay almost any amount of money for something that will extract the oil from my engine.

it was so much easier with my Malibu. Just drop the drain hose though the hull and let it drain. The last 2 PCMs that I have had have been a real bear. So frustrating!!!!

I'm plenty happy with my harbor freight kit.

What's wrong with your Topsider? Jeez, I bought one 18 years ago and it's still working just fine. I did have to replace the 1/2" Tygon tube once.

It won't hold a vacuum, but I can't figure out where it's leaking.

Most likely it's the seal at the base of the vacuum pump where it attaches to the can. Swap that O-ring with the one in the cap. Also, (ironically enough) there's a hole at the top of the pump so you can oil the piston. Add a bit there.

Been using this for about 10 years now, always worked perfectly. The thing is absolutely invaluable ...

I replaced the o-rings in both caps on my Topsider and viola its working again!

Also, I finally figured out why I couldn't draw the oil out of the oil pain drain hose. The hose was kinked down under the oil pan which was very hard to get to on a GS20. I couldn't see down there at all. I just had to shimmy my hand down there and run it along the hose. I did get a couple cuts on my hand and wrist, but got it straightened out. The hose comes off the pan toward the transom and was kinked back on itself to route it toward the bow.

I have an old brass hand pump that I bought 20 years ago. it is faster lighter and easier and more reliable than any fancy motorized pump. I change the oil in over 40 boats each year. tales about 2 minutes. If you have a large shop the other I recommend is the vacume tank that works off an air compresser. bulky and a bit costly they are the fastest.

Outstanding! Glad you got that working. The Topsiders are old these days but still reliable...

I have the jabsco impeller type mounted on the bucket. Works great.

Blue point (snapon) makes a decent one for a relatively good price.
