The hr meter on my boat started at exactly 6000 hrs when I summarized it. It had/has in the 550-600 hr range on it. The meter continues to work as normal but just keeps adding to the the 6000hrs. Has anyone seen this and is there a way to reset it or can the dealer plug into it to see the actual hrs? Looking to sell the boat to upgrade to a 230 but who is going to want a boat with 6000 hrs! Lol. It is an 03 Super Sport, 330 engine and Faria gauges. Thanks!

I'd be interested in what the Diacom shows as far as engine hours. If that shows 6000 as well, a call to PCM may be in order. Please do not PM me directly asking for advice on how to repair your boat. While I would love to help everyone, I simply do not have time to respond to all of the inquiries. Please post your questions on the forum, so that all of our members have a chance to answer.

You sure there is not a decimal in there that your not seeing? Every hour meter Iv seen provide 1/10ths so it could be showing you 600.0 which would be normal traditionally. I don't know about the 2003 gauges though Iv never owned one so not 100% sure.

My '03 SAN has the original gauges also, and the hour meter reads around 3,800. The Perfect Pass also has an hour meter, which reads around 700 in my case; that has to be the right number, there's no way my boat has 3,800 hours on it. Plugging into the engine is better, but if you have the original PP gauge, you can check that. HOWEVER, I'm pretty sure you can just reset the PP hour counter at any time, so, take it with a grain of salt. If it's close to the number you expect, then it's probably good. If you were buying a boat and someone tried to say it was very low hours, but their only evidence was the PP gauge... I'd want to see more.
