    Diesel sounds good to me. Except the actual fuel costs alot more than gas.

        it might be possible to get, and legally use 'off road diesel" in a boat. No road tax.

            Thats a good point Daniel.

            The TDI seems a lot better to me than the Duramax. The Duramax has that classic (but terrible) diesel sound. I wouldn't be OK with that on my boat. The TDI sounds like a normal gas engine though. I wonder how well one of the Mercedes BLUETEC engines would do?
