    Ballast idiot

So I'm an idiot, I thought by ballast was filling just because the linc said so. Well, I installed my piggy back system today and went for a water test. Realized nothing was happening. No sound, no water, nada.

    So, a couple questions:

-is there a prime process that I'm missing?
-where is the fuse box? The one in the drivers console?
-they've never ran since I've owned it, and its brand new!!! Does the factory check anything before they let it out?

    I'm pretty heated right now.

You shouldn't have to prime them. No sound would indicate no power, you should be able to hear the pumps and the breakers should be labeled.

Thank you! My question is where is the breaker box located? next to the battery switch in the little cubby hidden in the drivers console or are the ballast breakers somewhere else?

I also should mention that I hear a faint click click click somewhere that I hadn't noticed before. And I need to mention that it is a 2012 210 SANTE.
These tanks have never filled I don't believe.

Stay calm, we'll get you through this...there is either a panel at the drivers footwell area (where mine is on a 2010) or in the panel at theend of the helm console with an access door (in your model year?) I think there is one breaker for each pump . . .

As mentioned, when the ballast pumps are on you should be able to hear them spool up -- they are easy to locate as well.

Check the breaker panel and get back to us. . .

If you have a seacock, make sure it is open. That said, you should be able to hear jabscos.

So how long have you had this boat? No wonder you thought you needed the piggy back system. You will probably kill yourself now with the whole system full. Did you find the breakers? Does it work now?

can you tell what caused the clicking noise?

When you're on the water, are you on the lift or on the open lake? Moving at speed or idle -- with engine running? The pumps should work with or without the engine on -- from battery when you try, what do you hear?

With the engine cover open (and the engine off) can you locate the 3 ballast pumps? If so, can you trace the fill hose from the thru - hull fitting to the pump, and from the pump to the tank / sac? Can you see the wires leading from the pump to the harness under the top deck behind the engine, and connections look fine?

Are the hard tanks still in place or did they get removed? (I am wondering if something occurred in the removal process).

                        Got it!!

they let it come from the factory without them being plugged in to the pdm under the dash. Escapes me as to why ballast wouldn't be on the checklist of making sure it works. But even more disconcerting is why the linc kept telling me the tanks were full. Whats the point of the sending units if they aren't telling me the tanks are empty or full?!? I was told by a dealer that the gauges are based on the timer of the pumps and it looks like that is the truth. Cant wait to ride this thing!!!

Have fun! Did a call to the dealer lead to this solution?

Unfortunately no. Their maint guy was out this morning. I just started tinkering and using some minor logic. Most importantly I think I got lucky. Looking forward to seeing what it really can do.
