Pop the casting plug back in and fire it up. Everything could be fine.

I had mine freeze a few years ago and cost about $7K to have the dealer replace the block with a Jasper block. I will never trust engine space heaters again. I think mine didn't keep the block from freezing due to a short city wide power outage. Winterization is cheap compared the cost a new engine. I still put the heater in the bilge, but now it is mainly to keep the batteries warmer.

Cracked blocks suck. We currently have a 210 in here with one. Completely filled the crank case with water in 2 minutes run time. Freeze plugs are not designed to save the block from a freezing situation. They are there to remove casting sand from the internal parts of the block after the metal has hardened. If there is water at or below the level of the freeze plugs it can sometiems save the block. In this case the block was full all the way up to the T stat housing.
To pay someone to winterize it is cheap and it comes with the business insurance if they mess it up. Worth the money unless you are completely confident in your mechanical skills.
Pop them back in and hope for the best!Zach@n3boatworks.com

As a dealer... how would you handle a dispute where a customer says you winterized.... and you did... but the block ended up cracked. However you suspect that they took the boat out after you winterized.... or too early in the Spring and the damage happened then.
Do you do it on the service paperwork by the engine hours? How would you handle that?2019 G23 450

I would assume hours. I haven't been present when we have had an issue like that and haven't yet that I am aware of.Zach@n3boatworks.com
