Which Barefoot boom for my 94 SNOB

I have a 94 SNOB and want to get a Barefoot international Boom for it. However which one is best suited for my model? Any recommendations would be great.

Since your window frame is forward of the pylon on your nautique, use a B-201 single contour boom with a height adjuster,,,by having the contour, its easier to step over it...put the boom clamp up high and use the height adjuster below the clamp...adjust the boom up and down for different siuxe footers or skiers,

      I don't believe I would like the b201 and I know I don't like the adjuster.

      Here is a b200 on my 206.

Look at pics on post 3 of this thread

Note I have a pad I put under the boom during use.

I have a problem where my drivers seat comes back past the pylon therefore it has to go out the observer side. My friend has a closed bow and it can be done that way but put the boats side by side and the bow is 200mm longer in the open bow pushing the cockpit back.

I have to scoot mine all the way up until my belly rubs. For talking to the trainee, I put it out the driver side. Otherwise, for ballast reasons, I put out port side. The boom stays higher in the water at rest/start so the footer doesn't drag so much. As the boat planes, the boom comes down. It is opposite on the driver side. Somewhat a moot point when several peeps are on board. Usually, it is just me and whoever is in the water.

For a right hand prop the boat backs left. It is easier to stay on station with the boom out the port side.

Check out this video of Andre hanging out on my port side with no BF suit on. He basically said "gas it and I'll get out when I'm ready". He just stepped out onto the water...my dad was a little slow on the camera because he had know idea of what was going to happen.

I had a BI contour boom on my 93 snob and it worked great. I also used it on my 97 196 and now it is on my 206.

was that the single contour boom or quad contour? Mike from BI called me he highly recomendeds the straight boom however I want to be able to step over it easily when its out the passenger side. Having a Bimini restricts the steping over hieght.

Are you able to get the boom tip up head high for an adult?

Does the clamp rub your clam shell material?

                    Are you using the adjuster?

Did you run that out the drivers side?

Like was posted earlier, with the pushed back dash and windshield (and subsequently, the driver's seat), I would think that the Universal Contour boom might be required on a SNOB. Assuming you want to be able to run the boom off the driver's side, that is.

We only use the boom off the passenger (port) side, so we use straight booms on all of our CC's. Keeping the boom a little further forward (versus the universal contour which brings it back towards the transom) keeps the skier out of the side spray of the boat.

Let's note the difference in the three common DD booms.

                          B200 = straight as a pencil

B201 = Curved in one dimension only. Straight in plan view. Windshield must end forward of the pylon. Curved mainly to grab the bottom of a tapered pylon. Works on non-tapered pylon as well.

B202 = Curved/Contour boom. Curved in two dimensions...in plan to set back from the windshield and in elevation to grab a tapered pylon near the bottom of the pylon.

B204 = 2D curve with extreme curve towards the stern to clear the windshield on IMPROPERLY DESIGNED SKI BOATS.

One note, all three booms are made from the same stock. The more you bend it, the less it sticks out the side of the boat. B202 moves the boom back for more chine spray.

I will admit that B200 is losing popularity. I ordered one last summer and BI called my cell phone to double check I wanted B200. But agreed it was the boom for me. Only negative is stepping over it. When not in use, just move the base down/tip up.

One correction I couldn't get in before the bell.

One note, all four booms are made from the same stock. The more you bend it, the less it sticks out the side of the boat. B202/4 move the boom back for more chine spray. That is bad.

Yep the contour one is appealing purely for the step over factor....
