Sorry to go off topic but anybody know if the Python 502 is roller or flat tappet?

I typically go with the 15w-40 SM, from Shell Rotella or Mobil Delvac. Meets the oil specs from PCM. From reading the forums over the years, quite a few people run either of these two.
They also have a CJ rating (diesel), and are typically found in the truck area. As far as the diesel Ash comment, I have yet to find 15w40 without a API C* rating, and I doubt PCM would recommend an oil if they didn't think was good for our boat.

I had someone say Rotel t4 was a fine oil to run. Any recommendations at this point? I have a 2007 SANTI 220? Excalibur 330

11 Years ago, the Shell Rotella T had both a SM & CJ rating.
About 5 years ago, they dropped the SM rating (spark), and only kept CJ (Diesel) rating. I haven't used a Shell product in my boat since.
Either been using Mobile Delvac or a stores house brand (Warren Oil makes most store brand of oil) as they have an SM or SN rating.

Just run 15w-40 Dino (non synthetic) oil that has at least an automotive SM or better certification. PCM never verified synthetic oils for use in the excal engine. This is what I did with my excal engine after rotella lost the automotive cert.2018 Ski Nautique 200 TE, H6
