    Accessing Jabsco Impeller

I understand from searches that replacing a Jabsco impeller is a simple job. I am wondering if this depends on how the pump is mounted. On my 07 sv211, the bronze cap is on the bottom and it seems like I need to disconnect hoses and wiring just to get to the screws to remove. Am I over complicating this simple job?

    Thanks for the help.

On my 07 210 the pumps were mounted the same way. It definately makes it a little more challanging because you pretty much have to remove the screws by feeling under the pump. I put an arrow on your pic with the location of where one of the screws is. It is on the underside of the pump where the flat bronze plate is. The arrow in the pic is pointing to where the screw would be screwed into the pump. There are three screws that hold that flat bronze plate on the pump. The other two are towards the backside of the plate. They are flat head screws if I remember correctly and are not very long. Be carefull not to drop them in the hull of the boat when removing them. The hoses and wiring should not interfere with removing the plate. Also there is a small rubber o-ring style gasket in there to keep it from leaking. Hope this helps.

I would loosen the standoffs, and the hose clamps and rotate the pump so you have access.
I do not understand why they mount them upside down. You do not have to. They can be mounted however you like them.
