    Teak swim step

Swim step was refinished a few years ago, wondering if it is due for another round of TLC

you can tell in the corners that it was refinished recently and looks good in those areas, but the center area is showing some wear from booting up

I don't think you need to refinish it again Just get some good Teak oil and brush it on let it sit for an hour or overnight, wipe it off and repeat until no more soaks in. My guess would be 5 or 6 coats. It's real easy and as long as it hasn't turned black there no need to bleach it .

Get a stiff nylon brush. the next time you use your boat, right after trailering it, scrub the platform. Do this while the other people whoi were out with you are wiping down the sides of the boat. If you want, you can mix up some Dawn dishwashing detergent, in a spray bottle and spray that on there too, while scrubbing it. When done, use an old towel to wipe off the old gray gunk off the platform, or just back the boat back down the ramp, and rinse the platform.
That is the most gentle way to clean the platform.
When it is clean, use Meguires Gold teak oil on it. If you can find some bronze wool, that is ideal for applying the oil. You can use steel wool, but it flakes off, and the pieces rust.
