When it is on and I am going wakeboard speed perfect pass seems to work fine. If I have it off or if the water is real rough it tries to restart itself. It looks like it is rebooting and the screen goes blank and then it tries to reboot again. I assume someone has had this problem. Any suggestions?

RE: perfect pass is freaking out....
voltage would be my guess. PP has to have 12v or it will restart itself.the WakeSlayer

I only have one battery. You think that is not enough? Bad Connection? It worked for a long time without problems like it is. If I turn the stereo off and it fixes the problem, would that confirm voltage? If so that is what I will try next time I'm out.

In my observation. It doesn't matter if it is on or not as it is really always on. You either have a weak battery, loose connections somewhere like a bad ground on some accessory, etc.
I have a couple electrical issues on my boat. For example, if I turn on my heater, it will pop my PP. There is a problem with the heater (guessing blower motor is just old) it will drag my gauge down a volt per fan speed setting.
I have two batteries, and a 100A alternator.the WakeSlayer

so, i went yesterday and put the boat on the trailer. as I was driving to the ramp I noticed pp wasn't even on. that is a first for that to happen. still thinking the same thing. I'm thinking a loose wire.

I agree with Wake Slayer, probably either a voltage issue or bad ground.

Really old thread but I can confirm this is almost for sure voltage issues based on my recent experience.
On my 2004 206, I was having random PP stargazer reboot issues. Both during use and when the PP was off in rough water. Using the PP diagnostics screen, I noticed that the voltage to the PP was typically < 12v....even though the dash volt meter showed +13v.
When I traced the power wiring for the PP, I found that the power driving the unit was via vampire connectors tapping into some unknown dash wiring...likely done by the original PP installer. Very sketch.
To fix this, I added a bosch style automotive relay that used the existing but insufficient PP power wire as the trigger but then switched power from a high quality source (I used the lugs on the back of the PCM).
Now the PP diagnostics shows over 13v and the problem is gone.
Maybe this will help someone who is searching and has the same problem.Last edited by SilentSeven; 08-29-2021, 10:51 PM.2004 206 Air Nautique Limited - Black with Vapor Blue (family style)

Voltage either battery, alternator, or connections can cause all type of weird gremlins. On one of my boats with was the stereo, on my wife's car it caused a seatbelt error, on my tractor it was the diesel glow plug timer but in each situation the vehicle would start.

May want to take a look at your speed sensor wires just behind the gas tank.
My wires were zip tied tight from factory and were caught under the corner of the gas tank and getting smashed as we would studder over small choppy wakes.
I also have a write up in DIY section about sealing up your perfect pass and adding silica packets to keep everything nice and dry inside the unit
