While I have the interior out and awaiting new skins I'm getting everything else looking good again. I'm familiar with wet sanding/cutting/polishing/waxing the gel coat.
However, last summer, in a ill-conceived attempt to get rid of the mildew on the upholstery, I decided to try leaving to cover off and see if the sun would get rid of the mildew. Bad idea. All that happened was the black area from the dash pod over to the observer's area (area around the glove compartment) got really oxidized.
On some boat it's white and looks like gel coat. On mine is black and I don't know if its gel coat or paint or something else. Either way, what is the best way to get rid of the oxidation there?
