    Bilge Panel Question

Instead of "all on", my bilge panel was set to "bilge pump on" when I started the motor. Things ran normally and I only noticed it shortly after the engine was started. Have I damaged something by doing this? Should my Nautique dealer look at the panel and correct the wiring -- because I thought that when the panel is in "bilge pump on" that the keyless ingition system would not have power.

    RE: Bilge Panel Question

That little 3-way switch used to control "all on - all off - bilge only" can fail; it's kind of a weak link if you ask me. We had a 2005 Ski 196 that if you flicked that switch fast enough all the way down to "bilge only" from "all on" you could still start the boat and the key pad had full power. If you moved the switch slowly, it wouldn't do that (it would behave like it's supposed to). Shortly thereafter the switch failed completely, but was only like $10 to replace. The owner was switching it too fast and thus leaving the ignition on and the battery would be really weak or dead next time he went to start it. No damage though as far as I know, but I don't know a **** of a lot about the key pads.
How 'bout a little reverse action...
