Help with 2012 SAN 230 rear ballast upgrade
I am finally convinced that I need to pull my rear hard ballast tanks from my 2012 230 and plumb in fat sacs. I have added NSS and currently fill SL SUMO sacs on both sides (475s) with a borderline adequate surf wave. I would like to buy SL SUMO 1175's, so that I have a back up pump in case of impeller/pump failure. I noticed that the SL SUMO sacs only have 1 lower opening on the ends, while Wakemakers bags have 2 on one end. Is this a dead breaker? I found the correct fill quick connect fittings on Wakemakers, but I cannot find any instructions on how to hook up the overflow. If anyone has completed a hard tank removal and plumbed 1100+s, I would appreciate a walk-through or advice. I searched the forum archives and did not find an answer. Thank you in advance.

With NSS, be sure you don't sink the back of the boat too much, so that the NSS plates allow water to flow over the top of them. If that happens, the wave washes out. NSS on early boats like yours had that problem. Not sure if 1175's would be too much weight back there.Please do not PM me directly asking for advice on how to repair your boat. Mine has the Pro Ballast option from the factory -- Standard 1,300 pound tanks, plus two additional 400 pound bags in the back for a total of 2,100 pounds of ballast.Please do not PM me directly asking for advice on how to repair your boat.
