Space...the 1100 pound sacs don't take up much more than the stock hard tanks do, if any. So completely full with 1100 sacs you still have all your storage free.

Got a pic of that? I thought the hard tanks are on the sides, not below?
Why not just add 750's or 900's instead? Seems you end up around the same total rear ballast either way...

Removed rear hard tanks, installed 1100lb sacs
Added 650lb V sac from fly high under bow seats piggy backed off center tank.
Everything fills from the linc screen. Hard tanks reinstall in 15 minutes for resale.

This past weekend I had the biggest crew to date on the 230 with 11 adults. A couple of points:
- With this many people on the boat, you HAVE to have a couple of people up front.
- The surf wake was big. And long. Bigger and longer than ever on this boat. Exactly what I expected.
- I didn't have to make significant changes. We had to go faster, of course. We were usually right around 11.7.
- I still had to add in a little Hydrogate for port-side surfing to clean up the lip. 2 is the number.
- One guy on the boat wants it STEEP so he jumped in with the Pebble and ran the NSS up to 5. It was seriously steep. I tried it too when I surfed. It's fun for a bit, but I was standing on the brake the whole time.
- As a side note: I had somewhere around 4500 pounds of water, shot and people on-board and the ZR4 had no trouble with this at all.
So this is far more people than I usually have on-board. Seems like 4-6 is more like it. Anyway, I think starting next season, I'm going to add another 500 pounds of shot bags to the boat. We're better surfers now and the boat can easily handle this. This will bring it to 1000 pounds of shot plus 2100 pounds of water for a total of 3100. I'm pretty sure I'll have to put 100 pounds of this in the bow, but I won't know for sure till the spring. It just doesn't make sense to do this now when we only have a few weeks left here.
I wonder if the changes in 14 made the port side need more weight? I say this because in my 12 with NSS I find its the opposite my starboard likes to have slightly more weight than the port for goofy riders and the port is great with it all even.
I also find it odd you don't have bow ballast, perhaps that's what the port needs.

Port Surf:
ALL ballast FULL
NSS 0 Hydrogate 2
10.6-10.8
Goofy Surf:
Port 7/8
Starboard FULL
Center FULL
Bow FULL
NSS 0 hydrogate 0-2
speed 10.4 skim, 10.8 surf
I ride goofy, my bro rides normal. Small crew usually, in fact theres a lot of solo riding, as in the mirror is the spotter lol. otherwise theres only a driver and a spotter in which case if the spotter sits on the surf side all ballast can stay full for both sides, and if they switch with the wake shift crossing from side to side its perfect!
