I was at a boat show last weekend and was interested in the SANTE 220. The sales rep. said you can flatten out the wake enough to be an acceptable ski wake. Thoughts from owners or other riders? I really like the boat, but I need a wake that my wife can ski on.

RE: SANTE 220
210 is skiable, if you go no where near a course. Free skiing for non-ski people is fine.

RE: SANTE 220
I had a 211. I liked skiing behind it (OK at 32MPH good at 34MPH and best at 36MPH). I wouldn't take it through the course, so if she is a course skier she will hate it. Let me ask you what she is coming from so we can compare to what you are looking at. Example if you have a 220 Sea Ray, she will like the 220 Nautique more then she will you. If you have a 196 Ski N, prepare for a divorce. Bit extreme of an example.

RE: SANTE 220
I think she had a 22ft. regal (i/o). This will be the first v-drive either us have own. I guess my question relates to if a v-drive is driven at speed, will the wake act significantly different than an i/o? I'm going to test the 220 this weekend, so I guess that will give me great perspective. Thanks for your input!

RE: SANTE 220
We did our test drive this weekend. The wake was a little larger than she expected, but definitely skiable at 34mph. I think she'll be doing more boarding anyway...once she gets more comfortable with the board. The wake looked awesome, I wish it wasn't so cold so I could have checked it out. Overall, the power and performance met our expectations.
