That's a toughie! I like them both. That said, I don't think you'll have a problem with either when it comes time to sell the 196. As for color combo, again, lots of good choices out there. Blue/Gray.....Blue/Black....Red/Black Yellow_Flash_Colorz: maybe just pick a combo you've had in the past and had no trouble selling.

I added the poll to your post for you.

Being a promo boat, I'd go for the new graphics. Even though you may not like them too much, I bet they'll sell well at the end of the year. You'll have a different boat than all of the others out there.

I voted for the new ones, they look pretty slick and it's extremely hard to get me excited about anything "new".

I'm not in the market for an 08, but if I were, Retro graphics all the way. Just my opinion.

I agree, the new '08 graphics look pretty good- especially with the dark hull... and thats coming from a huge fan of the retro stripe. Tough call as to which to get, though. For a boat that I only plan to have for a year, it would be fun to mix it up with something new. For a boat I planned to keep, Id go retro all the way- that scheme will never go out of style.

Agree with what Tim & hollywood are saying, go with the new ones for a promo boat, cuz after all you're trying to show people all the NEW stuff about a boat with a promo right? I absolutely love the retro though and if it was a longterm boat, not just a year & sold, i'd definitely say go with retro. It really doesnt matter though, It's a SN196, you could order pink w/ yellow polka dots w/ any graphics scheme & i'd still drool over it, 196= best looking boat bar none.

Definitely the new graphics, it will stand out more as something new and I think it looks real sharp, personally like the bright Blue with blacks and silver or the dark colors with the greys/silvers.

Not in the market for an 08, but I do prefer the classic look for the 196. The new graphics are ok, but not my favorite.

Just to clarify, I voted for the retro. If I were in the promo program I might be inclined to go with the new graphics, but if I were a prospective buyer of a 1 year old boat, Id want the retro.

The new graphics look pretty good, Im just not sure they'll withstand the test of time. Im not crazy about the silver part being a bubble graphic, though. Here you go, CQ:

Because you're a promo, I'd have to say go with the new graphics for the sake of getting the new image out there. It's not like the boat is not going to sell at the end of the year, are you kidding me? Just make sure you go with a nice clean color scheme and you'll be fine. That said- I think the new graphics kind of suck, they should be accentuating the clean lines of the boat and by leaving the last 1/3 of the boat graphicless I think it just looks wierd. I think that first pic that Quinner posted shows what I mean. Just some thoughts.

I am partial to the retro graphics. Also not a fan of the dark colored hull. I like graphics and color schemes that are not dated. The new design looks good today but in 10 years? I think of the bright colors of the early 90's. Those boats are going to be harder to sell than ones with base colors and a timeless look.

I too wrestled with the same decision. I really like the retro and the fact that the word "SKI" is BIG, not ashamed to be seen. I havn't seen the new graphics in person, but I did order the new look just to mix it up. Maybe if I could bring myself to order something other than red/black/white on my 24th inboard I would have stayed with the great looking retro graphics and had a boat that looked different than the '07.
