I know this is not a good outline, but it shows the difference between the two.

There is no difference there are TWO pieces of aluminum. The piece against the hull does not move, that is the rounded part you are referriing to. Both boats have the exact same shape piece, you just can't see the one on the white boat because the outside piece, the piece that slides up and down, is covering it. The outside piece is also on both boats---straight at the bottom. Since they are both the same color you can't see the bottom edge of the outside piece when it is up due to the low resolution pictures.

inxs is exactly right...there have been zero changes to the 211's hydrogate. The moving "flat bottom edge" piece slides down to close the gap in between the "curved cut-out edge" piece that is mounted to the hull. This tiny change makes a huge difference when talking about hydrodynamics and waterflow.
When in the down position (the white boat pic) water hits the metal plate creating an upward push on the back end of the boat...thus, a smaller wake = ski position. When the plate is up (yellow boat pic) this force is not created and lets the back end of the boat sit down better in the water = wake position.
If you don't believe me, have someone else move the hydrogate control as you watch the plate from the back....heck, you can move it from the back too.

Indeed Andrew... There are some obvious differences between those two. I don't care about the hydrogate difference, but even the hull seems quite different. Someone mentioned before; are both of these pictures of a 211? Or is the yellow one a 2007 210?230 with ZR6 running on propane

RE: Re: RE: 211 hydrogate, 2004 vs. later models.
Thanks guys. I still don't rewally agree that there's no difference ebtween the 2. What I was looking for was whether the (slight) difference meant they changed the base plate or the hull. You don't change the hull and molds for no reason. I'll send an email to CC directly and will let you know.

P.

RE: Re: RE: 211 hydrogate, 2004 vs. later models.
Maybe this picture will help (from a 196). There is also a piece that does not move (curved to match the hull contour) that is solid against the back of the hull. The straight piece slides up and down, covering the curves when it is down. Both of these pictures are of the same boat. In the first one the gate is down, in the other it is up.

As I stated in my post before, I have owned a 2004 - 211 and I now own a 2005 - 211 and there is no difference in the gate or the hull.Life is Short, Live it!

Good call ski! I wasn't aware that the plate that moved too, I thought it was just the flap! Good pics, as they say "a picture is worth a thousand words"

Yep, I really thought I could describe it with words, but I finally gave up and went to the picture hard drive.
