I was going to replace my original tine-style rack on my 2009 230 with Triton board racks. My original rack held the boards horizontally, but I see there is a more vertical position available. Is there a preferred horizontal or vertical? I assume my FCT3 will handle it either way.

If I had a preference it’s choose more vertical. . Problem you run into with more vertical is when you rotate you risk being inhibited by speakers to spin in completely. I try to run my second set of surf racks as vertical as possible. They are fixed. In super chopped up days. I noticed the older style forks putting dimples on my higher end surf style boards. Went vertical , and seemed to eliminate it getting any worse. Again older style bungee racksLast edited by swatguy; 1 week ago.

Another issue with the more vertical racks is it can obscure the view for the driver depending on where they are positioned on the tower. I replaced my Titan spinners about 7 or 8 years ago on my 2008 SANTE 210 with the Titan stainless steel tower with PTM clamp racks, expensive but have held up amazing over the years.
