Has anyone driven a 236?

I'm thinking about buying a CC 236. The dealer had a demo in for a few days, we got in and looked around but do to bad weather never got to ride in it.

If anyone has any experience in the boat I would like to hear about it. My other two options are the MC X30, and a Centurion Enzo. I like the looks of the 236 best, but it's a little spooky buying the first Model year of a boat.

The boat is awesome. Buy it with the ZR6 motor only. I have been in the X30 and the Enzo as well. The Enzo would be the second choice but if you want to do it right the first time, buy the 236. I was very shocked to see how poorly designed the MC is. The Enzo does drive really nice and it is built well. If you are east of the rockies, you want to make sure you put the PCM motor in that boat.

I bought a 220 last year in it's first year of production and have had only minor problems that you would expect with any new boat you buy...being that it is the first year for it shouldn't be an issue IMHO...

Agreed. Most of the components are the same...Perhaps the wiring on the new dashpod could be different and an issue.

Thanks for the info. Do you think it's really worth it to opt for the Power Plus 375 hp engine vs. the 330 hp Power Plus. The last thing I ever want is an underpowered boat, but sometimes when you opt for the optional bigger engine, you wonder if you really needed it and the fuel economy gets a lot worse.

Also, all the boats I've ever had (Sea Rays) came with all the Biminis, and mooring covers with the boat. This does'nt seem to be the case with the Nautique. The good thing about these comming from the factory is that they are the same quality level as the boat you are buying. Who are the venders that sell Biminis and covers for Nautiques that are the same quality as the boat?

Drove one today, for a big boat it is so smooth! It handleslike a dream, cuts through other wakes with minimal bounce and turns hard with ease.
The seating inside is so versatile, and its easy to move around in.
If I had the money id get one!

I took a short drive in one a couple of months ago. That, along with what I have heard from someone I know who already owns one, has convinced me to buy one.

Awesome ride.. stuck every full speed turn even in CC's narrow lake... I must say that I almost banked a X15 though.. really makes you appreciate those tracking fins.

Thanks for the info. The 236's available here have the 5.7L 330hp engine. They say this is the same as what they have ordered in 220's and have never had a problem with the boat being underpowered using the team prop. So, since the 220 and 236 are close in size the 330hp should be adequate. The ZR6 is also a significant jump in price, so unless it's absolutely needed I'd prefer to stay with the smaller engine.

The one I drove had the Excalibur and seemed fine, but I was only in it for a few minutes. The ballast tanks were full, but there was no additional weight. Some people who have spent more time in that boat than I have say to only order one with the ZR6. I am taking their advice. I really wish PCM would offer a larger engine...

The 236 IMO is by far the best boat in the line up. I would never order it wihtout the ZR personally unless it was going to be used as a purely social boat, with very little weighted down usage. And even then I would be matching it with a different prop. The 220 quite easily gets away with the 330hp, but is better with the 1235 prop & better again with ZR...

The ZR6 matched with the 1235 prop from ACME is a great combo for this boat... having tried a 8.1L in another brand recently, I would still stay with the ZR... it had a ridiculous amount of go, but just didn't seem refined or as smooth as the ZR...

It would be nice to have another engine option, but with the advancements in props available, I am not sure it is totally necessary...

I am planning on covering the tour I went on last week for my site, but particularly around the 236. I was extremely impressed with this boat, and certain gears in my head have already started turning about getting into one. Not sure how far that will go, but it is in my head regardless.

I never buy brand-new cars and I never buy brand-new boats - or at least I have not in the past. So this would take some logistical planning, but I was overwhelmed at the 236 and am I convinced that this boat is one of the better moves they have made in recent memory. I have not seen Correct Craft put out a tower that complements the boat as well as that tower does for the 236, since the FCT that we all know and love on the 2000-2006 (minus 2004) FCT. It is extremely well designed and seeing it in person has convinced me of that. I need to get behind one as soon as possible and see if I can land my normal competition pass behind one and go from there. Regardless I think the boat is going to be a complete hit - particularly as people have the opportunity to see one in person. Pictures do not justify it. Pictures of this boat do not even come close to justifying it in fact. There was an orange and white one in the factory that made my jaw hit the floor so hard that all of my teeth fell out. I'll be sending Correct Craft a bill from my dentist.

Is the prop on the team package upgraded, or is there a prop upgrade you can get? The guy I'm dealing with said they used a 220 in a tournament, full ballast, bunch of people all day with the Excalibur and team prop without problems. I think the upgrade to the ZR6 may be about 5K, and I would rather use that money to buy the title.

Eric, I'm an OSU alum and our colors are orange and white. All my buddies are dogging me to get orange on the boat. What was the color scheme on the orange and white boat you saw? I hear there are more options than show on the build a boat on the website.

It was not unlike the image shown.

First one is similar to what I saw. Second is how I would configure it. And how proud I would look in it.

Back to my original point about seeing this thing in person... the orange looks better in person. I still think if I got one it would be mostly white, but the orange is straight up fantastic. I can almost see myself in one. With Photoshop, I actually CAN see myself in one.
