New TRD gauge set for my 2007 226TE compeated - very pleased!

New TRD gauges for my 2007 226TE. Recently purchased this boat as a second boat, seller said the gauges had a loose connection or maybe moisture as to why they were not working. I think he actually did think that. After trouble shooting everything, I realize I am a victim of the gateway failure. Real Happy with how it all turned out. GPS speedo now, red LED illumination matches the three ballast gauges. Excellent support from TRD as well. Also replaced the (2) amps and (6) 6.5" speakers and new 10" subwoofer. Boat checked all the boxes for me with closed loop cooling, ZR6 motor, I like the color, 288 hours, nice RamLin matched tandem trailer, etc. Very experienced boater, but first wake/ski boat I have ever owned, towed by many back in the day, but never owned one. This site has been very helpful - thanks for that!

How difficult was the gauge change. Was it plug and play?

Pretty easy, total plug and play, the 12 pin main plug is the exact same, You tell them if you have a v-drive (v-drive harness for the light) or not. (3) separate plug ins are included other than the 12 pin - 12 volt - check engine light - v-drive light. My fuel gauge would bot work, but that was specific to my boat, the past owner put in a 2" mechanical fuel gauge and wired it separate to the sender. So I had to wire the signal wire to PINK which is fuel on the boat and labeled as well, and ground the sender ground wire. You would not have to do that if it was not altered. I decided to replace the dash gauge bezel while I was at it (111.00 from Nautique parts) as mine had several cracks. I went back and forth on black or white gauge color, and ultimately went white as I felt the black was a bit more of a dated look. I also like how the gauges have glass lens, and not to OEM plastic that is prone to haze and cracks.

Wow! That is an outstanding car collection with 3 cars that are some of my absolute favorites! Nice to see all in one collection. I may have to add the GTO to my want list now. It looks so good with the other 3!

Thanks for the kind words. Here is the new motor for the GTO. 640 h.p. 592 torque, Went to a Ford 9" 3:50 rear for the strength. The other 3 cars are all manual trans (Camaro and Vete are 5 speed Tremecs)

I have black gauges and I find them harder to read over the white. I assume the depth gauge is the digital line on the tac like stock? I wish it was larger and easier to read.

No, that is the hour meter, the downside is you lose depth and water temp. I never had them to begin with. The Lowrance display gets me depth, full bottom detail, temp. and full GPS map with tracks. I would think it's also much more accurate. I use this boat on the St. Johns river (north Florida) and it has all kinds of hidden areas and restaurants, etc. So it's nice having full GPS with tracks and way points that can be set, for sand bars and favorite locations. Also great for the night time run to dinner and such.

How does the Perfect Pass factor in? My Stargazer unit plugs into the gateway. I have always wondered how the PP will work if/when I need to do the bypass.

In my case I just plugged it back in to where it has always been, it works fine. I didn't even look to see where it goes, I assume to the GW box. I just left the Gateway box in place. I did have to Dremel out the additional 5" hole when I bought the new dash panel bezel from Nautique parts. I guess for ones that don't have PP. I figured if I am going this far, why not replaced the cracked bezel (the padded dash itself is like new condition) I like the finish and color much better than the original silver one. It's like a brushed pewter, looks much nicer.
