    Ongoing Tower Issues - 2022 G23 Paragon - 3rd Year of Failures

    Boat: 2022 G23 Paragon
Issue: Tower failing every year, getting worse
Current: Off its tracks, creaking like it's about to break

    The Problem
Need help from PN community - my P23 tower has failed THREE years straight:
    • Year 1: Actuators broke, warranty repair
    • Year 2: Tower SLAMMED DOWN while I was under it, warranty repair
    • Year 3: Off its tracks, sounds like it's about to rip off the boat (at the dealer right now)
Currently can't raise it without severe creaking. Side-to-side wobble is generally very bad with the tower, I'm not sure how it would stay in its tracks. Last repair didn't even last 30 hours of use.

Also dealing with water intrusion (20-30 seconds of bilge running after hard right turns) and bad vibration turning hard right - wondering if something bigger is wrong here.

    My Concern
The tower already fell on me once. What happens when it fails at speed or while towing? This feels like a fundamental defect that dealer band-aids aren't fixing.

    Escalation Attempts
Reached out to Nautique customer support. They asked for details but went completely silent after I sent my hull ID. No response at all. That's... concerning.

    Questions
    1. Anyone else with recurring G23 tower failures?
    2. How do you escalate safety issues when Nautique goes radio silent?
    3. Best way to get corporate attention on a dangerous defect?

Love the boat but scared someone's going to get hurt. Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks

Tha's really odd,= the root cause hasn't been established.
Im thinking the boat might not be dimensionally stable. If that can tested somehow. ie Is the tower being torqued?
Do you run with full ballast a lot? I would measure at test points with no tower, no ballast, then no tower, ballast in. Someting with 1 mm resolution

One thing I noticed in my boat after tower install it does stiffen the hull being a solid bridge between the gunnels.

And also a thorough hull inspection, the fittings (fins, strut, rudder etc) to track the water source, any glassing issues or faults.

I'm not sure i'd know enough to do any of that. I've dropped it off at the dealer this time around and requested them to look at structural issues for the tower.

Here is the list I sent them:
      • Tower track alignment and adjustment
      • All tower mounting bolts for proper torque
      • Rubber spacers/dampeners at mounting points for wear
      • Any signs of stress or fatigue in the tower structure or track system
      • Lubrication points that may be causing the creaking
I had AI help me generate a list of things to check. The problem is they just keep checking/replacing the actuators and tracks and at this point I think its safe to say that is not the issue.

This is one of the reasons I've tried escalating to Nautique (with no success, they really don't seem to care at all)

Small update. I had been emailing the customer support email and finally added info@nautique to my escalations and it seems to have finally got some traction. Maybe the universe just needed the forum post. They added a bunch of Roswell people to thread and it sounds like they have a new fix this time around. (good news, just doing the same thing was obviously not working)

        This is roswells response.

        Hi Aroton,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing ongoing issues with your tower.

After reviewing the previous repairs, we've found that both repairs were completed before we introduced our new, improved actuators. These new actuators feature a larger diameter and several other enhancements. We recommend installing these updated actuators, along with new wear guides and a shim kit, to resolve any alignment problems.

We are confident that these upgrades will provide a long-term solution and eliminate the need for annual repairs. Please be assured that Roswell will provide full coverage and support for any future issues you may encounter.

I will be working directly with Midwest Marine to provide support during these repairs so that everything is resolved and the tower is functioning without issue.
