We are leaning towards the 236 and were curious on your opinions of that boat? We will primarily be using it to surf. It has 3 hard ballast tanks plus an additional 3 soft bags in the lockers are which are plumbed in, and surf exhaust. Thank you!

Used boat purchase advice
We are currently surfing behind a 1986 ski nautique and have already outgrown it. We are looking to make a boat purchase with a budget about 30/35k. We first looked at a 2006 super air nautique 210 around 800 hours. Then we also looked at a 2007 super air nautique 236, around 400 hours with the bigger engine.

The 236(same hull as a 230) is a great surf boat. The 210 also surfs pretty well, especially considering it's size. I just realized that 06 is the OG hull of the 210. It surfs ok but has one of my favorite wakeboard wakes. If surfing is your main objective then I'd go 236/230 all day. Also the 236 is much much roomier than the OG 210 with the narrower beam. If you were choosing between an 07+ 210 and a 230/236 then it's a closer call. I have owned an OG 210 (Super Sport) for over a decade and love it but will be looking to sell it. I have lots of time in and behind an 08 210 and my own 230 and I think with the right ballast and shaper combo you will be very happy with the surf wave on either boat.Shawn

Surfing no question the 236 is going to be roomy and throw a good wave. I'd be changing the rubber to a seade/kEVA.
If you want high performance tubing or skiing in the mix, the crossovers are better (Sv211) but in the case of a 211, gonna have to add sacks front, middle and rear as well as the gate.
edit: I looked at the '06 210 SAN that is like the orig super sport (what does OG mean?). For me that sizing makes more sense, as I like the boat to be a bit smaller for gunning around on the lake by myself.Last edited by FMSKI; 06-18-2025, 03:23 PM.
