3-m marine wax, or if you need a little something besides wax only, 3-m marine wax with cleaner.

OK guys, 1992 SN....just bought Collinite 925. My boat's in perfect shape and doesn't even look like it needs wax but I want to lay down a fresh coat for the summer.

One question though......will the wax leave a residue around my stripes? I can't stand the look of a sloppy wax job. Anything else I should be aware of with Collinite?

                  Thanks for your help.

West Marine boat polish with teflon works the best for me. I run in the ocean on my 25' boat and it lasts me a season.

                        trbenj,

Any thoughts? I know you're a big fan of Collinite wax and have a similar boat to mine. Any tricks to be aware of for applying?

                        Everyone's advice is appreciated.

Nope, no tricks. Ive found it to be very easy to apply- I use a microfiber towel (by hand) and it goes on and comes off very easily.

When applying the #925 wax, i use the common sponge like applicator by hand and use a straight line motion instead of circular. I avoid the rubrail (rubber) area as it might leave a whitish residue. Like TRBenj, I also use a micro fiber cloth to buff out the wax and it comes off easily.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

I realize it's kind of a stupid question but I'm pretty anal when it comes to the ole ski tractor, and I hate white residue left over from poor wax jobs.

I'll stay away from the rub-rails.
