    Sante 230 swim deck capacity?

I’ve had my boat since Memorial Day and already want more ballast

Wondering if sacs could be strapped to the swim deck for added ballast and what that thing can handle for weight

wpuld be way better than eating up storage and clogging the floor space

also a great place for draining it out

No, do not do this. I've never seen anyone do this and you have plenty of space inside the lockers for weight.

This just sounds like a bad idea. Plus how are you supposed to strap a board on. Or get back in you boat.

I’ve slipped and fallen hard on my 230 deck and it wobbled a little. There’s no way I’d put ballast back there. I get not wanting to eat up storage space but it’s a 230. I have a trash can, a cooler, about a dozen life jackets, an anchor, dock rope, bumpers, a snack bag, a surf wedge, a toolbag, and a rolled up 3-person tube all in my underseat storage. And I’m probably missing a few things I have in there. Storage shouldn’t be too big an issue.

Those platform can certain hold weight since I have seen 3 people sit on one while floating for a break. But keep in mind that is stationary. No way I would put a bunch of weight on it and subject it to bouncing over waves, etc. Besides placing ballast back there would likely result in too much rear weight and give you a bad wave

I’m not sure about the 230, but the max weight for the swim platform on the GS22 is 500 lbs...

Plus, lest we forget that the 230 does better with added bags around the port side observer's seat and generally more towards the front. Dropping the back so much behind the prop will probably cause the back of the hull to wash out the wake.

Personally I would not but its been posted that you can strap your trailer to the brackets, which I personally don't like, so whats the big deal on adding a little weight. The position so far back may allow less ballast to be carried. Maybe put a little lead ledge on the underside.

I upgraded to the 750 pound bags in the back then I added 150 pound weight bags to the walkway and another 140 lbs under bow seats

great wake at 10.8 and nss at 3
