Here is another comparison. The fully extended NSS plate of both the 2020 Paragon and the 2020 G23. The Paragon plate seems to have a much more perpendicular angle as well as extending an extra inch and half(maybe more) further than the standard G23 plate.

They will produce 200 units this year which is more than I was originally told.
I have read most of the opinions/complaints about the extra 100k and how they should have just released this as the standard G. My thinking about releasing the paragon along side the standard 2020 G series is simple. Nautique is a business and it sounds like the ceo, Bill Yeargin is a very smart guy.
If you create a boat in limited supply that is 100k more than your flagship(standard g23), it makes the G23 seem reasonably priced and continues to drive sales to the older hull design. This in turn gives them as much time as needed to tool up for major production of the newer"paragon" hull without having to completely retool the factory at once. A new hull design requires a lot of r&d and retooling. I am sure there is some R&D costs built into the price of the paragon as well. Inflate your price and your margins shift dramatically. From a press/hype perspective it gives the world something to talk about/oogle over/debate.
I would be willing to bet that in in 3 years, the paragon hull will take over for the G series and it will be released in little brother (21)and big brother(25) versions and the price will level out to be more in line with the standard G23. I would also be willing to bet that they will continue to offer a "paragon" level boat package from here on out to compete with all the companies that have offerings for the mega elite. why not sell a "luxury" boat for a crazy price if people will buy it? People buy Parvatis and they look like a bedazzled Affliction T-shirt, why wouldn't people purchase the Paragon? My bet is they will be pre booked for all 200 units by march.Last edited by Mr.MojoRisen; 10-08-2019, 06:26 PM.

Nope. That's on the other side of Robin Lake from the pavilion at Callaway Gardens. Same place the Masters is held every year.Originally posted by Kmayotte View Post
Where is this photo taken? Factory? I remember seeing shots of the 2019 G23 when it came out in a similar location.

And here are the hull depth screen shots from same youtube video. The Paragon is going to be a beast to tow. I would assume the extra material is where the additional dry weight comes from.

here are two screen shots i pulled from a youtube video. the Paragon's NSS plate is HUGE compared to the standard 2020 G23 plate. The side running surface seems to me much more vertical than the g23 hull.
I look forward to riding behind one someday.

Black SeaDeck in this video as an apparent option. Pretty cool. I was hoping they’d offer a black interior deck as well, but no bueno.Originally posted by dhmcfadin View PostPretty awesome video showing the comparison between the G and Paragon including scale.

This. The paragon is going to have a VERY steep depreciation in the first and second year. As will the M240. All you have to do, is look at the first 2 years of depreciation in a Pavati or the M235.Originally posted by Tallredrider View Post
I will guess that it is likely going to depreciate more. At least the same percentage of purchase price, which is more money. GIven that there are less buyers for the more expensive boat, I would expect supply and demand to play out. If they only produce 50 of these (someone said that is their goal), then maybe demand will buoy up price some.
I personally believe that anyone who can afford 150K on a used wakeboat will probably just buy a new one.
That is probably the biggest thing that will keep me away from something like this. With options and trailer, the MSRP climbed to almost $320k. When someone buys a Paragon, it is likely going to have a MSRP range of $295-$320k on average, and out the door prices will range from $215-$260k. In one year, the used boat is going to be worth 170k on a good day, and 130-140k in two years (Also on a good day). Can you imagine losing over 100k in depreciation in 1-2 years? Ouch..... There will be too much other competing boats for sale that are cheaper, and fluff features aren’t going to matter as much anymore. This type of thing always happens with products like this. Same with cars. If someone goes way over the top of the competition with a product that is maybe a little cooler, but otherwise equivalent to the competition, their first and second years hurt big time.
The Paragon will be the McLaren of the wakeboat world, and the M240 will be the Merc SL 65 AMG. The current G holds its value well, because it is only marginally more expensive than all of its competition. It’s not 50% more expensive, just for marginal performance difference and some more bling.
It is a VERY cool boat though, and most of the people who buy it won’t care about throwing away 100k in a year or two. No different than the limited group who go out and buy a Pavati, just to buy a Pavati. This will grab some of that business. I’d take this boat over an AL24 any day of the week.Last edited by Wayward; 10-08-2019, 04:49 PM.

I'm 53-and have a 2017 G23. For me, graphics and letters all down the side are not my thing; this is class-in my opinion. Maybe I'm just old... It is analogous to someone my age owning a Ford Raptor with all of the graphics on the side (no offense to anyone who does...)Originally posted by Mike Fenton View Post
Yes, Boat looks naked without the chromax. It needs something! Other than that it is awesome!Last edited by RDT-G23; 10-08-2019, 04:09 PM.

Well said.Originally posted by cwglee51 View Post
This hits it on the head precisely.
Spending 150 to 200 on a "Normal" G23 isn't good enough to get a cooler in the back and a 2 position rear facing seat?
This boat isn't next level, it's just the level the normal G should be after 8 years on the market.

The configurator online lets you view the underside of the boat (running surface) from any angle you desire.Originally posted by lyzer View Post
Haven’t heard anything about that but it would be nice. Another change that would be welcome
its a little easier to see the bottom hull lines on the red boat it doesn’t appear from the side that the shape of the running surface is significantly changed, definitely want to hear more about that.
At the end of the day I wonder if we have reached significant diminishing returns in terms of wave. I’m no physicist but I’m guessing you can model all variations of fluid dynamics for a 10k lb 23ft boat producing a wave ♂️
But I digress, more pictures and details please
has to be the best looking and engineered wake boat! Now I’m wondering does Nautique keep producing the regular G or do they phase it out or differentiate further in some way?
