Alright gentlemen... I have everything in and installed. I received 500 lbs of bag weight a couple weeks back, Wakemakers 650's had been delayed a bit but just the lead weight made a very big difference. Quite impressive that 500lbs qwould be so significant!
Wakemaker's delivery came yesterday and I installed them this morning. WOW - what a difference, the wake is tall, very long and super clean. It was only myself in the boat but it looked beautiful. Can't wait to surf tomorrow.
Question for you all on ballast fill/empty. I assume filling you just watch the bags and shut down pumps when full. I always thought when emptying the bags would empty first followed by the hard tanks but this doesnt seem to be the case. Am I correct... that the hard tanks emptied first, then the bags? When my pumps were whining as they do when ballast is empty I still had about 2" of water in the bottom of both bags. Is that normal? Any recommedation would be appreciated.
I will follow up with some pics when I get back out.
Thanks everyone,
RJ

Glad it’s working well! When I fill, I manually turn the pumps on from the ballast screen and fill until water is spitting out the overflow vents to the outside of the boat. And yes, I drain until I hear the sound or I visually check and they’re empty. I hadn’t noticed that my pumps sounded like they were running dry when I still had water in the bags. Since the fill/drain port is on the rear, maybe some water is just trapped and settling forward and away from the port? In that case, lifting the front of the bag should get all the water back to the drain port. Have fun this weekend!

Or maybe you’re hearing the belly tank pump run dry given the much smaller water volume but the port and starboard pumps are still working.

nautiques4life , check this thread out, a couple of "new Gen" 230's owners who wakeboard, even though this thread is about surfing setup. I still think you need to get a G23 with as good a wakeboarder you are! Just get it ceramic coated and good to go!2008 230 TE-ZR6

I had the same issue with my 230. The rear 650s would still have water in them when the pumps began to whine. The problem was easily rectified when I drained the water while the boat was under way at about 7 or 8 mph, just enough to get the bow up so the water shifted to the rear. I now always drain while moving and monitor the bags visually. When they are completely empty I bring the boat to a stop and empty what is left in the hard tanks until I hear the pumps whine. Keep in mind that the belly tank will empty well before the rear sacks and hard tanks so you will have to watch the screen until the belly is at about 1/8 then stop the rears and listed for the belly. Once the belly is completely empty you can once again start the rears and listen for them.

nautiques4life , would totally take you up on that beer, but, that's a LOOONNG tow for us! I just saw that @ShaunMurray is going, see if you can get him on your boat for a set. He'll fill you in on the new 230 vs. the G23, plus you'll be amazed by how much pop he gets by just coasting into the wake!2008 230 TE-ZR6

I'm going but probably gonna leave my boat, hoping to take a set on both, and if I'm lucky see him ride. IMO they chose a terrible location, add 30+ nautiques, its gonna be terrible water.
