actually, try it at 13mph as well.

Not it sure why MC sets the stock profile speed at 10.8. The wave is tall/steep/shorter at that speed. Wave is incredible, and VERY long at speeds that are appropriate for the boat. 11.7-12.2 with a small crew, and 11.8-13mph if you have a bigger crew.

also, instead of putting the 250lbs under the observer seat like you would in a G. Put the lead in the bow (100lbs under each bow seat). That gets the bow down enough for the driver to easily see, and lengthens out the wave.
Surfing at those speeds might be fun for carving but it will make 360s and any spin tricks substantially more difficult. There is a reason the best surfers in the world surf between 10.8 and 11.5....

Just depends on each user and family. With mine I have young kids so we spend a lot of some swimming of the rear platform and thus the adults used the rear transom seats all the time and we loved them.

Shorter wave height and a much longer pocket makes spin tricks harder? What?

you are in that scene, so I assume you have a pretty good understanding on it.

Its just, i find them much easier. Shorter wave height and a much longer recovery zone makes spin tricks, transfers, and airs, much easier.

Same reason a lot of guys run their G at 11.5-12mph if they have a big crew or extra weight.

supposing that it is true that pros run 10.8-11.5...... that would make perfect sense to me, as most models that they would practice on have a wave that crumbles or loses its push above 11.5mph.

I thought the rear facing seats were not avail on the G until 2020 models . Your profile states you own a 2019 G23 . Just curious

You are correct on wave shape and length...short, steep waves are less desirable for spin tricks. But your approach to achieve a longer wave is not well informed. You can achieve a longer wave with proper weighting and bow height management (NCRS, tabs, etc). Spin tricks ARE more difficult at speed because catching your board edge becomes much more likely.

If you are so certain your wave is ideal, invite a pro to surf with you and be willing to receive critical feedback. I have been surfing with pros for years and I am simply sharing what I have learned in that time.

Hey greggmck and others. Go post your G23 surf recipes in this thread if you would. It would be cool if people that have worked on tuning the wave would post up so we have them in one spot.
