I bought a 2019 G23 last week. I put it on the water today. With the ballast empty, the rooster tail is throwing to the passenger side of the boat instead of the middle. I want to see if this is a common issue with the G23. The rooster tail was in the center with my 230. I can't get a symmetrical wake without adding water. This is something I never had to do with the 230. I only needed to add water to make the wake larger. Any thoughts?

Understood. The boat was in balance with people. I even added two hundred pounds of water on the passenger side and it made no difference. It is my opinion that something is off but I wanted to check with other G23 owners first before I contact the dealer.

Place 250-300 lbs of steel shot bags under port side observer seat . Problem solved . Balance boat due to prop rotation.
Most G23 owners have this set up

Not set to wake surfing. This is just crusing down the lake empty. I have to adjust water weight on each side for surfing. On 230, I could fill all bags by the same amount and surf on either side. I have to adjust water per side just to get a good wake on port side. Wake washes put on port side.

Boat does not ride evenly port to starboard when evenly weighted or not weighted therefore wake will not be symmetrical. You need 250-300#'s on the Port side permanently. They should add this weight at the factory IMO.

Sounds like he misses his 230 :-)
This happened on a friend. Of mines G21 the other day. Turns our the NCRS plate had malfunctioned and was locked in the down position. Could be this I suppose.

Very widely known (non)-issue with G boats. At wakeboard or cruise speed, the large prop pulls the starboard side down. So you need to “start” with about 150 extra pounds on port side. (And so if it’s just a driver in boat, you need to counter his or her weight PLUS 150ish)

I agree with above. It is not a big issue, but I would say I know a number of people - including me - that first time driving their new boat from launch to dock noticed they were riding thru the water with a very huge lean, thinking one tank had water in it or something wrong. It big enough to be embarrassing, and disappointing, which for the cost they should figure out how to deal with.Originally posted by Kmayotte View PostThey should add this weight at the factory IMO.
In my opinion a boat should not lean when empty. Plenty of other mfgrs don't have this noticeable of a problem. It is not really acceptable for a premier brand.
