We run 250Lbs of steel shot distributed through the port side but I am considering adding another 100Lbs. 250 works great but I am 240lbs so it almost negates the positive impact of the 250lbs of steel shot. I find dropping 100lbs from the starboard ballast helps clean up the wave while I am driving.Originally posted by Freestyle View PostSo may be leaning toward the G21. Read in another forum and was told by a friend that you need to add 250 lbs of ballast to the port side in the G21?

I could not justify spending that much money on a NEW boat with a major bow spray problem (G21) so my vote without question for that reason alone would be the 230. It will need extra weight for an awesome surf wave, but it will be all the wave you ever need and come at a cheaper price.
Otherwise consider a g23 with the updated hull for reduced spray.

So if I never surf my G21 into the wind....I have NO bow spray problem.....problem solved!!! I wouldn't call it "Major" and don't buy for just that reason. You will miss out on SO many things the G21 does well. So anyone....what would you consider the status of the "hull fix" for the G23 spray. Did it drastically reduce the bow spray....or by just a little? Just curious for you G23 guys....

Thats a very nice wave! Dare I say, It looks comparable to my buddies lsv. Where have you placed the ballast and how many people were on board? Thanks.Originally posted by markj View Post

Ive got a 2016 g23 and have only had the spray be an issue 2-3 times. Definitely is an issue with windshield open and going into the wind on a windy day with some lake chop. Never been in an older model before the fix. Pretty easy to turn around and go with the wind. Lol.
