Upgrade to New? Or stay with current boat?

I'm debating on whether or not I should upgrade to a new 2019 GS20 or 2019 210. I currently have a 1994 Sport Nautique and just recently replaced the ProTec system. The boat only has around 700 hours on it and I purchased the boat about 3 years ago with a little less than 450 hours. I'm not sure how much I use my boat based on other's, but I live in Texas and the weather is warm pretty much all year round except maybe 3 or 4 months. As of now I only wakeboard and wake skate occasionally depending on my mood, but I'm fairly new to the sport and everything i've learned I've taught myself. By no means am i any good, but I would like to start wake surfing, and I might dabble in bare footing every now and then, My question is, Is a new boat worth it? I don't want to buy used spending 40-50k on a used boat when i could get a new one with a 5yr warranty and the color ways that i prefer.

Talk me out of it, or talk me into it!

Well your comparing a 15k boat to a 100k boat. Night and day difference. How ever you can get a pretty sweet used Vdrive for 40-50k that will probably outlast a new boat due to no touch screens or electronics to mess with. Go surf assist can be added to any used boat for only 4k too. I would not hesitate to buy used but if you can swing the payment on a new boat go for it. Alot worse things in life to waste your money on. Good luck with your decision.

I agree with Gwozhog as to comparing a 94 sport to a 2019 anything - night and day!
I came from a 2000 Sport Nautique to a 2014 210 and the only possible downside was that I then had a payment.
I got used to the payment after a few months and would never look back.
If you enjoy being on the water, do as much as you are financially able to do.
      As for a 2019 GS20 vs a 2019 210, that's a whole other topic...…

Personally....I like to either buy a leftover at very nice discount, or get a boat a couple years old since you don't lose all the depreciation in those first 3yrs and the new boat market, is holding up the used boat market and keeps it strong. At this point in the year wait till fall or winter either way for the best deal!

If you buy a nice, well kept 40-50k boat...it will do all you want and your wave will be 90% of brand new, especially with GSA or good suck gate. Also, you will have VERY little depreciation, if you buy it right....you could keep it 3yrs and lose very little money.
Then again, buying brand new, you get exactly what you want along with the new smell and 5yr warranty.
Tough call....I considered going new this year and decided to keep my 2014 for above reasons. My warranty is also good thru 2020 since it was bought as new leftover in March 2015.

Depends - financial situation? If you can afford one, why would you not? How many hours a year do you put on a boat? We went all in last year and even deeper this year with a new boat and have zero regrets. Best purchase I’ve ever made (including my houses).
