I have a new 220 and wouldn't trade it for anything but that is a great looking Malibu....why does everyone get so defensive when someone wants to try something new???
Congrats and enjoy your new BU. Colors are sweet ! As a die hard 210 fan I have owned many 210's and my bud has the 2006 version. I personally do not like the 06 210 tower and think that considering CC invented and patented towers, both MC and BU are killing them for good looks. My local lake is full of Nautiques, but when the odd guy turns up with his new VLX, everyone looks at his boat.
There is no denying they look great and the 210 is looking a bit dated now. I have to say though that the new V Drive unit by PCM in the 2006 seems smoother and better than my 05.
I recently took a 2006 VLX out for the day with a buddy who bought one and I have to say that it was a good boat and the wake has never been in question. However I still prefer the boot of the 210 wake as I am so used to it.
The VLX seemed far less sensitive to weight compared with the slightest movement in the 210. The wedge does a cool job I rekon. Wake was huge but without the shape and boot of the 210 IMO. Still good though and would suit most riding styles after a bit of recalibrating yourself.
Anyone who doesn't realise that CC has been sat on their laurels for too long needs to think again.
The numbers speak for themselves, Malibu outsell everyone - by a mile !
This is coming from myself as a die hard CC fan who thinks CC need to get with it. I rode the 220 at Murrays place and ended up riding the X-Star for the rest of the week.
They should not have christened that boat the 'Super Air' and de-badged the old baby. At the time CC's marketing was more that contridictory in relation to the 210 and the 220. The 220 is a cool boat and full of space creation and innovative design, but it ain't a 'Super Air'.
Its time the sleeping giant (CC) woke up and smelt the coffee.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm sorry to see you switch to Malibu, but it is a beautiful boat, and I am sure you and your family will enjoy it. Best of luck with it, and if I ever make it up your way, how about a pull?

Please do not PM me directly asking for advice on how to repair your boat. While I would love to help everyone, I simply do not have time to respond to all of the inquiries. Please post your questions on the forum, so that all of our members have a chance to answer.
I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina.
We specialize in Nautique and Correct Craft restorations, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.
If we can be of service to you, please contact us anytime!
If I were buying new, today and could not be a Correct Craft, then I would have gone for an X45 or an MC CSX 220.
However that type of scenario is extremely unlikely for me, since I don't buy new, and thus I can't imagine ever runing into this problem that Dragon88 did.
But I know Dragon88 and he is a good dude. Maybe not a CC lifer but we all know what happens when we drink too much manufacturer Kool-Aid and start to lose sight of what true progress is all about. He and his family clearly did their research and did not care for the 2006 210. That is fair.
I get a decent amount of traffic to wakeboardreport.com and the2001.com that come from forum posts that throw me or Correct Craft under the bus. From years of debating about boats I've learned to avoid bashing manufacturers as a whole. Rather I like to just bash their marketing & product design teams And with regard to that, EVERYONE is a target.
I see his point though - and I have heard of the issues he describes elsewhere. It is troubling stuff. I respect his decision fully, especially as he came on here and disclosed what happened, shared his photos and story, and thanked this community.
Beautiful new Bu, I am sure you will be happy. The Bu's are different with some stonger points (like plumbing and electrical systems) and a few weaker points (like hull design, glasswork and corner finish). I never like to hear bashing of another manufacturer, it's never pleasant. I also find that CC owners tend to be above that and leave it to the MC guys. I would have like to get a bu this time around but they just seemed a bit too big and tall for my tastes, plus I know Nautiques so it was easy to go with a known instead of an unknown.
Those pictures of you wrecked 210 are truly depressing, I would hate to have that happen to me.
ag4ever, I have a 211 and I tend to agree with you about the butt, however it's quite functional and has grown on me somewhat.
you guy's are forgetting one key piece of info, it's his Dad's not the sixteen yr old's boat, and I bet it's the Dad that made the decession to go with the malibu as well. I'm also betting that the reason that they went with a malibu is because the insurance company low balled them on the value and they would not give them enough cash to pay for a new Nautique and they would not accept a used model identical to what they had so they took what was offered and got what they could with the check from the insurance company. I'm sure we're not getting the complete story, just like it was out of line to see the pictures two monthes ago when everyone was asking, heck Dave you need to track down where the insurance sent the boat to be scraped and pick yourself up another bargain.
For the record I think this is a good point.
That said, I'm not a fan of the newer CC wakeboard boats (220, 211). They do look pretty hideious, especially the rear end. I still think the 196 is the coolest looking boat on the water overall, but CC does have to seriously look at redesigning the WB boat line.

knowing how insurance company's work they do not replace your lose with a newer model than what you had or give you a higher value than it is, nine times out of ten it's a lower value than the actual market value. Having a Son myself I know how easy it is for them to make claims that this and that is his, when the reality it's mine and he gets to use it if I let him.
