G23 Rear Seating Area Shade Options

Just purchased a new 2018 G23 and the driver area is covered well with shade from the wake tower Bimini top. I though would like to get something to cover the back seating area so that when we are parked / anchored everyone in the back of the boat is sitting in shade. I have looked online and cannot really find a good option.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The Sewlong G23 bimini adds a bit of rear set shade but not all the way to the back.

Probably will have to look at having something custom made by a local canvas shop. In the end you'll get exactly what you're looking for.

Sewlong offers 2 sizes...7.5ft long and 9.5ft long (how long is the one you have now?). You may try calling them, who knows maybe they can do a longer one. I have 8ft on my boat and love it but it does not reach back seat, never understood who some companies do a 6ft bimini.....basically worthless IMO.

Think they avoid the longer ones cause people tend to either hit their head when coming off back walk-thru....or people grab onto it for support. Also would require a pretty sturdy pole system to support that much weight and prevent lift when driving boat at 30+mph. Sewlong is awesome, I hear very easy to put out and fold up.... and your gonna pay like $4k for the awesomeness,

You may be able to get a local cavas shop to add a zipper to back of yours and fabricate an extension....then you just gotta figure out how to support the extension.

NautiqueJeff that is exactly what I am looking for. Huge bummer that never went into production. Thank you for sending this over though. I might try to find a local canvas / metal work group that could make this off the video.

Sureshade is an option if you can get the mounting right.

I was quoted quite a bit less, but that was 2 years ago. I still cannot imagine it being 4K like the stock bimini is. I would call for a quote before I accepted that it is going to cost the same as the stock option.

I looked at the link posted above after posting that message....below is what it says. So yea, little cheaper than $4k. Cost:
                • $3317 Standard Size – 84″Wide By 92″ Long
                • $3783 XL Size – 84″ Wide By 116″ Long

This was my biggest problem with the stock bimini. Orlando Nautiques solved the problem with this rear bimini extension.

It’s not perfect if you need your tower speakers to project but we don’t so it’s a problem solver for us, gives us great rear seat shade.

Lake Mabel G21 do you have some more pictures you could post / send me? This looks like a great design. Wonder if Orlando Nautique could make one for me and ship it?

I don’t see why not. You’ll have to do some hardware mounting to the tower but if you can do that it should be easy.

Very nice setup for those of us in the South who are always hiding from the sun.

Here in AZ sun is an issue... Think there are probably 5-10 upholstery/bimini shops in Havasu alone... I'd also consider going full custom had mine done a while back, waaay bigger than stock think it was right around $2000. It's a 230, but I dropped it off with 4 rev8's told him I need as much shade as possible with speakers, ability to get in and out, and no rope interpherence. Love it. What a great setup,

Question, dose it fold in similar to the front bimini for towing and storage?

If so could I ask for a few pics?

It's the same in Sydney, summer is hot and sunburn happens quickly when we are on the water

                              Thanks in advance
