I see many 2015-2016 owners have sold their bungee racks and purchased the strapless racks found on the 18's. My question is , do you like the conversion and what does it cost all together considering you can sell you bungee racks for $?

I just went through this process and you don't get jack $hit for your old bungee racks. I got $475.00 plus $25.00 shipping for mine but unfortunately my buyer came from Ebay and not PN so I had to pay another $65.00 for Ebay commssions.My racks did not include swivels. Bottomline get what you can before the used market becomes flooded with these and boat owners upgrade to the strapless models

On the strapless racks, there are many different models , but I went with the Roswell Triton racks and had them custom painted by Roswell to match my boat. Yes they were expensive , and with the custom paint they were right at $3,000.00 for a set.

If you are considering this route , I would sell them fast before they become the next 8 track tape machine or rotary telephone and become basically worthless. LOL

I was a little confused by your comment about the swivels. Were you unable to re-use your original swivels with the new racks? Why not? They look very similar.

Long story short , if you get the strapless racks from Roswell they do not come with swivels therefore I needed to keep my original swivels and the reason I went with the Roswell model vs Nautique identified racks is because Roswell could custom paint the racks to match my boat. The Nautique identified strapless racks are all black with NO color options but on a positive they are overmolded plastic whereas my strapless racks are not overmolded. The Nautique identified strapless racks come with swivels included but cost much more then the Roswell model. I think the Nautique identified racks are around +/-$3,800.00.

How is the board height with the Roswell racks with the boards swung in? Do they clear the speakers? I have 2017 G23 with 4 JL 8.8 mounted up there. If I remember right, when I saw the Nautique racks swung in, there was no way a surf board was going to miss the speakers. The clearance was just way too tight for the board.... which I believe is one of the reasons for a taller tower in 2018.

There is a link on here with just your question but I can’t find it. I had the same concern you did and after I installed the strapless racks all wakesurf style boards swing in just fine without hitting the tower speakers. You have 8.8 JL speakers which have a larger diameter then my 7.7 JLs but I would still think the boards could turn to the IN position well

Quick question for those who have upgraded to the Tritons. I have a 2016 G23 and got the Tritons and the Mag Swivels. I am trying to assemble these at home before I visit my boat and wondering if you guys are putting the metal spacer in between the Triton Rack and Mag Swivels or not. I've looked at videos online but couldn't quite be certain if people with the G23 tower are using the metal spacer that was supplied with the racks or not.

I used the original swivels . Since our boat is a 2017 , you may want to take a picture of your existing swivels and email to Roswell to make sure they function with the Roswell racks, that is what I did to be sure

To Follow up on this. I got the triton strapless board racks. The nautique swivels that came on my 2014 board racks was not compatible with the triton board racks due to the swivels having a built in angle, therefore the tritons would not set perpendicular to the water as they should. I had to purchase two additional swivels from Roswell so the project ended up more costly than anticipated. However, I absolutely love the strapless design and every time I go out, I am glad I spent the money. They fit every board, swing in easily and are idiot proof. highly recommend.

Sorry if I steered you down the wrong road. I had a "typo" in my post above . My swivels were from my 2017 G23 not a 2014 G23. Nonetheless you will love your new Triton board racks. One of the best accessories I have purchased for my G 23 along with the Roswell Seahorse hooks which I use all the time.
