I heard the G25 won't even go into gear if you have a slalom ski on the platform....LOL

Maybe we should start here. Is there 1 person on this forum that owns a GS24??

That would be impressive if there wasn't!!

I’m pretty sure I saw one at the dealer on the showroom floor. Does that count?

So at least two have been produced.

"At 130k + my boat should be able to do any water sport my heart desires and then some!"

I think g series only works for slalom skiing if you pay $130k or more. He should be fine. I think at $130k or over you get a "slalom thruster".

GMLIII, I don't own a GS24 (I own a 22) but I was able to do some riding in one last fall. It has a ton of room inside so stretching out or carrying a large crew is easy with the 24. The surf wave was just okay, but then my 22 still needs some tweaking, we had full tanks and about 10 adults in it, it made a tall wake but it seemed short and steep. I didn't try to ski behind it, I was told though that it really didn't ski very well. The wakeboard wake was okay, but not any better than my 22.
Some of the downsides that I saw are - such a low freeboard for such a long boat, in rollers it seemed to me that it wanted to bury the bow and it just felt odd having a boat that long with such a low freeboard, with 10 people, full tanks and surfing it felt like you were under the water sitting in the stern and riding a wheelie while driving. It's a nice boat, roomy, comfortable and all the usual Nautique-y things that are good. If you want a Suburban on the water, need the room for crew, want to be able to get it through a normal garage door (I'd say into a normal garage, but not many people have a normal garage that's long enough for this boat) and the other niceties about the GS line then this is a great boat.

About the thread within the thread, I'm not sure if it was "slalom behind a G23" or the definition of slalom - either way, the definition of slalom is: a ski race down a winding course marked by flags or poles.- a sporting event on water with a winding course marked by obstacles, typically a canoe or sailing race. But essentially the definition depends on your perspective - If I'm Norwegian I'd think slalom was down a snow covered mountain, if I'm on a lake in central Florida I'd think it's swerving around buoys while the boat drives a straight line. But if I'm like 95% of the population that owns a boat and skis on one ski, I'd think slalom skiing was being pulled behind a boat while I only have one ski on. Connelly, O'brien, and HO make quite a few skis that were never designed to run around buoys and the are called slalom skis. In my opinion it doesn't matter if the intention is to ride around on one ski or to be the next Chris Parrish, I'm just happy that there are people that want to ski and not just surf or ride on a tube. And if you want to start a real argument go find a surfer on the north shore, put him behind a G and tell him that's a surf wave - he'd just laugh at you - it's all in the perspective.

Great info on your 1st paragraph , very informative. Bottom line on the G 23 the boat sucks for slalom ski, one skiing or what you want to call it ; I own one and have experienced it while on one ski and it is indeed terrible with a plus. I bet if we took a poll of G23 owners the majority of them would have the same perspective

I honestly don't even understand why we're even talking about this. Slalom skiing is way, way outside the design goals for any of the G's. Twice now I've watched someone try to slalom behind my neighbor's G23 and it's just not pretty. No reason it really should be on a 6000 pound boat...

So that's a no, you don't have a GS24. I don't know why the G23 keeps coming up. OP didn't ask about it and has twice now tried to get back on topic.

I posted this thread concerning the mystic behind the GS24 and which very little information has been post about it. Within this thread, the G23 has commanded most of the discussion and I have been guilty of commenting on it because it is so far off center I could not resist. Anyway the GS24 information would be helpful if anyone has anything to add..

Sorry to dig this thread into an ever deeper black hole, but you’re kidding right??? I mean you have to be. No one in their right mind would actually say that the G23 has a decent slalom “”wave””. And then to say your 130k boat should do it all, come on, does a 250k Lamborghini make a good tow vehicle? And yes I slalom ski on a regular basis, but not behind my G. This is the definition of more money than brains.

What concerns me about this more than anything is how a Nautique dealer heard: "I really like to slalom ski and my wife likes to surf a little" and came back with "Oh the G23 is the right boat for you."
